There are so many things we take for granted in our lives today that,just occasionally, one of these things leaps up and slaps us in the face. Like the city's pendletåg, for example. Clean, efficient, comfortable, fairly inexpensive...and the thing that really hits me in the face - smooth and quiet! Whatever happened to the days when a train running on the tracks sounded like an angry Thor raining tumultuous damnation upon our society? Now a train, like the pendletåg in Stockholm, sounds more like a silenced vacuum cleaner 'whooshing past'. Amazing technology.I am really really impressed by the smoothness of railway tracks in Scandinavia.
